Public Transportation Infrastructure Advocacy
The NDCC has submitted a letter to Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy supporting DART's federal funding application for the Northwest Bus Operating Facility (NWBOF) Project through the Buses and Bus Facilities Program.
This critical project will modernize DART's largest bus maintenance facility, which has been in operation for over 40 years and houses 190 compressed natural gas buses. The upgrades will enhance safety, operational efficiency, and service reliability, while supporting infrastructure renewal and ensuring workforce safety.
The project benefits North Central Texas communities, including federally designated Opportunity Zones, by improving public transportation reliability and access to employment, education, and essential services across DART's 700-square-mile service area.
This advocacy builds on the Chamber's commitment to supporting transportation improvements that enhance business infrastructure and drive economic development throughout Dallas.
